Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.
Oh gosh. You people and your Wendigos
Until Sam and the others had found evidence of what had happened to them. Beth was dead, Hannah was...something else. That was knowledge she would have to live with forever. Combined with Josh's fate, it was a heavy burden to bear.
The flowers are super odd.
Sam's not unknown in Ryslig, she's managed to make a few friends so hearing her name being called shouldn't have made her pause as it does. It's been more than a year, but Sam hasn't forgotten the voice of her best friend, but it's not a voice she should ever be able to hear again.
Turning slightly, her eyes catch Hannah and the momentary paralysis breaks. Instinct tells her to run, to throw her arms around her best friend and hug her as tightly as she possibly can. Reason tells her to be careful. While there are still parts of Hannah there, Sam very much also recognizes a Wendigo.]
Oh my god... [This really might be her, this really might be Hannah. That night isn't so easy to forget, but she knows Ryslig monsters aren't so mindless without hunger.] Hannah? Yeah, it's me. [She can't help the smile that claims her face.] It's Sam.
...It's really you, right?

I missed you so much. Oh my god... Oh my god... I thought I would never see you again!

Hannah. Oh god, it was really Hannah. Sam has to be careful how hard she returns the hug in fear of hurting her best friend. While the limbs may be longer, that only makes them thinner.]
I can't believe it's really you. [Sappy? Sure. True? Very.] I've missed you so much, I never really thought... [Sam didn't think they would ever meet again.] I'm so glad to see you, Hannah. You have no idea.

I like the hair. It's pretty. [Even if it is part of her monster form, anyway.]
SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG
Reaching up, Sam touches a branch.] That's probably the first nice thing I've heard about it. Chris and Ashley...they're here too. They've had a good laugh at the irony. [But it was all in good fun, and Sam isn't really angry about it.]
But... [The hair, Ryslig, monsters, all of it is secondary right now.] You're coming with me. [Reaching out, Sam captures Hannah's hand.] And if I can help it, I'm never letting you out of my sight again.
[She might not mean it literally, but she wasn't letting Hannah go any time soon.]
ITS OKAY WE'RE ALL SuPER BUSY /HUGS
[The hand that meets Sam's is elongated and boney, nails already proper claws. They're probably the closest to being a wendigo out of all her parts so far] ... Thank you, Sam. Really... I have nowhere to go anymore so going with you... it'd be perfect anyway.
[She doesn't want to go either. She wants to be with her friends, and even without her siblings, it would be enough to have those precious people back with her again.]
*HUGS TIGHTLY*
[For a moment, something sad runs across Sam's face. Especially Josh. The look isn't allowed to stay, however. Instead, she keeps pulling.]
Where have you been staying until now? I can't believe I've been here a month and haven't seen you.
no subject
Hannah misses that sad face and she laughs a little, following along with the continual pulls. She had missed this. She had missed Sam taking charge. She had missed smiling and laughing with her.]
The hospital here, in Bavan. When I fell down in the mines, I broke my leg. I thought it would be broken still, so I went to the hospital, turned out that it had somehow healed. I ended up staying there helping the medical staff as an assistant... but when I started transforming yesterday, I decided to leave and try find somewhere else to stay.

You...don't know? Hannah, how much do you remember? [It wasn't her fault, none of it. What else was Hannah supposed to do when trapped in the mines? It had been a horrible, horrible situation, and she had been forced to make that difficult decision. As someone who can't even bring herself to eat animal products, there's no way Sam can imagine having to eat her own sister.
The thing, the Wendigo, she had become after hadn't been her fault either. This Hannah wasn't that Hannah.]

... I remember falling and I remember the thirty days I spent in the mine after that. I remember all of it. [She bites her bottom lip gently.] I... Do you... Do you know something about it? Where I was? Did you see that thing that chased us too at the lodge?
