TEST DRIVE : MAY 2016 EDITIOIN

- Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
- Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

[Really Ryuk should be more concerned about all of this but it seems like the future is going to be anything BUT boring, and frankly he was anticipating it like he hadn't anticipated anything for a long time. Even the fun with Light might not be this interesting!
He straightens up when Misa mentions Rem, looking around as if expecting to see her lurking somewhere in the vicinity. Of course she isn't, but if one shinigami was around maybe another would turn up too.]
Haven't seen her, nope. But hey, if I'm here maybe she'll turn up.
[It might be suspiciously comfort-like for him to say, to try to ease her concerns a little. That Rem would likely also be human and trying to figure out what she'd look like with a normal human woman shape was briefly mind-boggling.
He abandons the effort almost immediately.]

[ Wow. It's no wonder he would find something like that interesting; she knows Ryuk, and knows the kind of things he finds fun. It certainly won't be boring, that's for sure. ]
I sure hope so...I don't want her to be by herself, especially if she has to deal with being a human, now. Not that I don't think she can take care of herself, but...I know she can get a little lonely.
[ It might be strange to think of Rem, normally all-business, as the type to get sad when she's alone, but, Misa gets that impression from her. Might just be a bond between women. ]
So what are you gonna end up doing from here? You're not tied to the notebook anymore...you have to do all of the interesting human things you never could do before, right?

Maybe Misa felt the same way. She certainly never seemed to treat Light's little game as seriously as Light did. It was all in good fun, right?]
She'll come find you soon enough if she's here. You two are pretty friendly after all! Can't just let that sort of thing go.
[He crosses his arms over his chest, looking almost thoughtful. Human features were good for one thing, changes of expression!]
I guess until then you'll just have to keep your eyes peeled, heh.
[As would he! Because he wanted to know if she'd have a pulse now too. It was so strange, listening to all that blood rushing around in his head! How could they stand it?!]
Eeehhhh, I dunno yet. I mean, this might just be a vacation, so I gotta enjoy it while I can right? But according to all these other humans around here, we're all gonna turn into something else soon anyway, so who knows what to do? Be a human for a while, prepare to be whatever next? Have a good time from all of it?
[Maybe Misa would have a better idea. Light was so serious, and would probably suggest some complicated thing that would end with waiting around in a room all day. She'd know what would be a fun time right?]

I guess you're right! Speaking of my Eyes, though, those aren't working, either...whatever took away your wings must have taken those away from me, too.
[ Which is a damn shame, yes, especially if it means her remaining life is still cut down to a quarter...she's not sure how much longer she can support Light, if it needs to go down to an eighth. But for him, she would do it, no questions asked. She owes him that much and more. ]
Misa-Misa thinks you should make the most of your time being human, though! You've watched us for long enough that there really must be something you've always wanted to do, right? Thinking about it as a vacation might not be a bad plan! You can actually talk to people now, make friends, go have parties! From what Rem tells me, the Shinigami world sounds all stuffy. Being a human'll teach you to have a good time, I promise! Maybe we can find a club somewhere and you can go and dance a little, or maybe we can sing karaoke, or relax in a hot spring or something! That'll be fun, right?

But it did mean maybe she'd have more of her life left. He remembered where her numbers were the last time they'd crossed paths. There wasn't all that much time, and eventually...]
The shinigami realm IS boring! It's just dust and dull guys sitting around all day playing the same gambling games they've been playing for centuries.
[There were no words to describe how mindbogglingly monotonous the whole thing was. The human world was much more exciting! There was always SOMETHING going on, and their games were much better!
At least it seems he was right, Misa really did have have a better idea of what to do than he did. But step one was inevitably gonna be apples.]
Videogames are fun! Light and I used to play sometimes when his room wasn't bugged. I don't know if they'll have any here though, it seems everything's out of date. Who ever thought figuring out what to do as a human would be so tough? ...Karaoke, huh?
[Things that people really should never experience: that gravelly voice trying to sing. But he sounds awfully interested in the idea.]

It sounds pretty boring, though! Video games are pretty fun, though, yeah. I know how good Light is at Mario Golf! He beats me every time...

It definitely doesn't look like we'll have a lot of things we're used to. It looks like an old-timey country, absolutely nothing like Tokyo. They probably don't have a lot of our fun stuff, but, we can always find instruments, even if Misa-Misa doesn't know how to do anything other than sing! I do write my own songs, you know!

[This seems to strike the ex-shinigami as terribly amusing, by the laughter that breaks out. She didn't have the eyes anymore as it was, and he couldn't give them to her anyway, so the point really was moot. So much lost time, and for what?
What did it get either Misa OR Light? Not much! He sobers up eventually, laughter dying to fits and coughs of chuckles.]
Yeah, Light's real good at it. I practice and practiced but only won sometimes. Do you think this place has apples, or is it too old fashioned even for that?
[Apples are timeless, Ryuk. He rakes a hand through his hair, the tiniest of frowns crossing his features, probably at the thought of possibly no apples to be had.]
Oohhh yeah that's right. You gonna become all famous here too? Even with all this monster stuff everyone's going on about?

[ She...really doesn't like the sound of that laugh. Gosh, Ryuk, be a little less creepy...but right now, she just sort of nervously chuckles, like someone who's aware that there's a joke here but doesn't get the punchline at all and is way too sheepish to ask for an explanation for one reason or another. Being left out of the joke is a bit of a joke in and of itself, after all. ]
Misa-MIsa can't imagine a place that doesn't have apples...I mean, they're so standard, after all! They grow on trees and everything!
[ Maybe here they don't, but, they must somewhere closeby, right? ]
It depends, really. I don't know what I'm gonna turn into...it might get in the way of my modelling, after all. If I turn into something like a vampire, yes, I'll still be beautiful, but, Misa-Misa won't be able to look in the mirror at all...and also, the bright light from the flash of the camera might make me burn up! And if I turn into a werewolf, I won't be able to go to any big premieres if they're on the night of a full moon...it's gonna be super tough.

[Trees, not apples. Though now that he had the connection in mind, it was likely Ryuk was going to go looking for them. Free apples, right off the tree! He'd gorge himself til he popped!

But you might get lots and lots of new admirers because you'd be especially different now. If you became a werewolf maybe you could put really special acts on for the full moon.
[And kill and eat people for the crowd! Yummy entertainment for all! Then again while Misa didn't hesitate to kill she might balk at cannibalism unless Light asked her to.]

E-even if I am especially different, still! A special act for the full moon might go really badly, I can't imagine too many people would be so happy to see a werewolf perform a dance...hopefully if I turn into something, I'll still be cute...

[If Rem were ALSO back from the dead .. wow this was just a whole parade of dead people coming back to life, there had to be some sort of off switch that got broken or something.
For a moment he simply stares at Misa, considering all the dead people coming back and NOT her turning into a cute monster, but one might wonder which was really on his mind.
After a moment he blinks. That's something he'd never done before being human either. What were they talking about? Dances?]
Well, humans can be pretty freaky. I'm sure there's lots of people who'd like to see you dance all furry and stuff. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. No point in worrying about it too much yet.
