Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

He keeps scowling at the child-shaped thing with suspicion and hostility. This can't be human, so what is it? How is it doing...whatever it is that it's doing? He's still more or less convinced as to the cause of his malady; he likes having an explanation he might be able to have some power over.
The mention of blood though, gives him pause. He forgot about that. Focusing on himself again, he coughs, and wipes at his mouth with one hand, frowning at what he sees.]
Not dark enough to be internal... [Anxiously he probes his mouth with his tongue, realizing:] It's coming from my gums. M-my teeth...
[What, is he getting fangs in a human mouth? How is this possible? This isn't how any change he knows if is supposed to work.]

It's probably your fangs growing in. Have any fallen out? Mine pushed my old teeth right out of my gums.
[It was incredibly unpleasant and he thanks his lucky stars every day it was just the four canines and not all his teeth like it is for some monsters. Losing just the four was bad enough.]
Look. I know it's upsetting. It's probably the most upsetting shit you've ever had to deal with, but you have to keep it together. It's the only way to survive here.
[There's a stern tone to his voice that an eleven year old really shouldn't be able to manage. It's good Lucius treats kids like smaller adults, because not only has Jake always been big for his age but he grew up far too fast. Being coddled or discounted now probably would result in a whomp from those antlers.]

It's like witnessing a particularly bone-shattering crash over a Quidditch field, however. Hard to look away.
Blood still coating fingertips he reaches to gingerly prod his mouth. 'Pushed my old teeth right out'...sure enough, his canines and the sharper pre-molars are loose. He pulls his hand back but it's too late, that little touch was enough: he's coughing again, they're falling into the open palm of his hand, and long fangs are sliding through his pained gums like knives as they sprout.
Standing there talking to an undead child-sized thing with antlers while holding a handful of his own teeth is not the strangest thing he's ever done in his life. But it does happen to be near the top of the list.]
...What are you? I can tell you aren't human. You smell dead. If you really aren't responsible, then how do you know so much about all of this?
no subject
[He can't believe this is falling to him, now, when this guy's already got a handful of his own teeth.]
I used to be human. You're about to used to be human too. Everyone who shows up here from somewhere else has it happen eventually. If you're lucky, it won't kill you like it killed me.

['Unbelievable', he was about to say, a sneer already forming. But he tastes his own blood again and is reminded of what's happening to his body. Suddenly it all seems a lot harder to dismiss.
It only took him a full month of being a denial-laden stubborn idiot to get there.]
I haven't been listening. Yes I've seen those that have changed, of course, heard their claims that they used to be proper people. But the explanation is - is rubbish. There is no magic capable of doing such a thing! That isn't how it works.
[He looks down at his hand again, at the fur on his knuckles and the claws he has instead of fingernails, at the bloodied teeth still resting in his palm.]
...That's not how it is supposed to work.
[Too late he's realized the gravity of his situation.]

Jake, for his part, does not look impressed. His expression is almost impatient, like this too is something he's heard before and is bored by.]
That's not how it works where you're from, sure. New universe, new rules. You're best served forgetting everything you know and trying to pick up the new stuff as fast as possible.

[His voice dies, feebly, because even as he tries to protest - desperately, almost queasily - how can he continue arguing now? Now that he's seeing it for himself, experiencing it in his own flesh and blood?
His face somehow manages to blanch past his already pale complexion. Suddenly his knees feel weak, and without looking back he tries to step backward and retreat to the bench. His free hand grabs for the back of it, but he misses - not seeming to care anymore, he sinks slowly, kneeling now on the ground.
He stares at the teeth in his palm, and his hand is shaking. He has claws and fangs, he's turning into a monster. A subhuman.]
How, how can this be happening. T-to me.
