Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.
Howard Stark | MCU
SCENARIO ONE
SCENARIO TWO
SCENARIO THREE
So these fangs? These fangs just... are not going to happen. No, he's not doing this. He is not. He's gonna find a file and he's going to file these babies down and they're going to pretend like this all DIDN'T HAPPEN because no. No no no. This is not happening.]
All right folks, anyone got a good file, smallish, maybe the kind you'd use for wearing down a bolt or something?
SCENARIO FOUR
4
The gargoyle sticks to the shadows--it's easier to hide her face and her more sinister changes there, and she doesn't want to cause the group to panic.]
I believe that's more than enough, gentlemen.
[She pours every ounce of authority she's gained over the years into her voice. Hopefully, an implied threat will be enough to scare them off without throwing around fireballs.]
no subject
PEGGY?
[ He's not sure if it's her being here, her looking the way she does from what he can see, or just the fact that ANY OF THIS IS HAPPENING that's crazier but he's utterly distracted by this.
For about a second.
Then he's smiling. Smiling and looking over at the hunters with the smuggest look on his face. Wouldn't you? ]
Eh, fellas? I knew this one before she had actual, physical claws. I'd skedaddle about now if you like your backside unkicked as a general preference.
no subject
[The humans are getting tense, brandishing their weapons, and Peggy steps into the light. Her tail whips behind her, her ears are flared at attention, her wings tense for flight, and the claws of her bare feet click on the ground. Her genuine agitation seems to intimidate them more than her cool authority previously. One man moves to aim his gun at her, but Peggy unholsters her own gun and points it at him without looking.] You came here with the intention of lynching one man who can't fight to save his life. You are now facing a fully realized gargoyle. Your numbers may eventually overpower me, but unlike myself, those of you who die in the process will not come back. So who among you would like to volunteer to sacrifice your lives to inconvenience me, and who among you would like to go home and forget this happened?
[She turns her face to look at the mob, the veins in her neck and face starting to glow orange, like something set her blood on fire. Slowly, the mob backs away, lowering their weapons slowly.] That's what I thought. [She doesn't lower her gun, but she gestures at Howard.] Come along, Howard.
no subject
...more importantly, he follows along behind her because that's what one does when Margaret Carter tells you to come along. He is NOT a stupid man, after all. And if he's uncharacteristically quiet, well... can you blame him?
Also, it won't last.]no subject
As they get away from the mob and Peggy can pick up no sign that they're being followed, the awkwardness of the situation sets in. What is she supposed to say? 'Hi, Howard, I'm a dragon thing now, and also Steve and Bucky are alive and your son is also a dragon thing. Oh, did I mention you have a son?'
She should be getting better at this. She's gone through the song and dance with many people, even Steve, but it never gets easier.
The glow under her skin fades away and she holsters her gun.] Welcome to Ryslig. I believe that was your welcome wagon. [It's very weird to have Howard around and not want to staple his mouth shut. The quiet doesn't suit him.]

Not on me, but I might know where you could get one. What do you need it for?

[Because honestly, god knew what Tony might do with his tools.]

I have... let us call it a dental emergency that requires the use of a file. Don't worry, I'll have it fully sanitized before I return it to the party in question.

But you know that's not going to do you much good, right?

By now, he was used to people getting lost here, or coming out to the woods for similar reasons to his, but he always stayed cautious.] Hello?
no subject
Hello hello to you too, whoever you are. Don't suppose you know the way out of this arboreal nightmare?
no subject
[Same thing, right?
He pushed his way through some bushes and past a few branches in the direction of Howard's voice, until Bucky could peer down at him. Hopefully he wasn't too alarming.
He hadn't recognized his voice, but actually seeing him... Bucky froze.]
no subject
Hello... friend?
[ He's going with friend. Friend sounds great for EVERYONE involved here. ]
And yes, that was exactly what I was referring to. You'll excuse me, but I tend to get loquacious when I'm exceptionally annoyed. Also, do you mind explaining why you happen to sound like a dearly departed friend of mine because this place has served up all kinds of nightmares since I got here, but that one is not what I would have expected, if I'm entirely honest.
no subject
I- [He took a deep breath, crouching down a little so he wasn't towering so much.] -it's Bucky. [He knew he didn't look like himself right now, with the fur and the claws and the arm, but.]

About until you said 'bolt', I was ready to recommend the nearest drug store. Not planning anything illegal are you~?
no subject
So do you have one or not?
no subject
If I'm correct in my assumptions, even if I -did- have one, I'm not sure I'd want to trust it with someone ready to use it on themselves...
Not unless you're a troll, I suppose. Rocks are fair game.

Well that one's new. Normally I see this question about claws.
I still don't recommend it by the way; with the luck we have here they'd just grow back.

In quick procession Steve goes from disbelief to shock to 'oh no, Tony', because while he might not know all the details, he knows that Howard's appearance here will be a very big deal for his teammate. A possibly painful big deal.
But that doesn't stop him from walking straight up to his old friend; fangs, claws, and giant wings in all, a smile beginning to show itself on his face. It might be selfish to be glad to see him if it means Howard is stuck in a place like this, but he can't help it. He knows Howard had never given up his search for him and that means a lot to Steve.]
Well if it isn't Mr. Howard Stark himself. Maybe you should have spent less time working on flying cars and more on preventing alternate dimension kidnapping.
no subject
He's never had such a violently divergent set of opinions on a thing as he does of this place right now. Because there's Steve Rogers, smiling at him like the little shit he's always been. But he's got wings and fangs and claws and G-d help him, he probably eats people like the rest of them. That's why he has to wind up a little, not used to slowing down like that at all. He needs to get his momentum back and it takes a moment. ]
Well, if I'd known it was a real possibility, I would have moved it up on my list. As it is, I'm trying to handle clean energy, if you can believe that. Well, on the side. I've just recently gotten into making motion pictures but I think my love affair there has ended. Always know when to pull out, as they say.
[ Beat. ]
Lookin'... different. Who does your detailing?
no subject
Steve feels a little self conscious watching Howard's expression as he takes in Steve's appearance, his large wings twitching behind him like they don't know whether to flare out to give the man a better look or remained tucked behind his back.
But when Howard finally speaks, tension eases out of Steve's shoulders as he listens to the other man's rambling. It's so familiar, the cadence and speed of his words, just flowing out of him. He can't help but compare it to Tony's. Tony's speech pattern is very similar, pure Howard with a bit of his own unique spin.]
Funny, I never really pictured you as the Hollywood type, Stark.
[And yeah, it's probably time to start explaining some things.]
Someone called the Fog God. We've never met, but they're one of two gods here at war with one another. The Fog God is responsible for bringing us here. And for...the changes.
no subject
[ That comes with a little hand gesture, of course. And he's still enthusiastic. It's all interesting and new and G-ddammit, it's Steve. Steve's here and talking to him and smiling at him and it doesn't matter what the blasted weather around here is doing, because he's here, living and breathing. He could ask for more, and he has, but it seems that's what he's going to get. He's still pretty pleased with it. ]
How's it treating you? No aches on those wings, given the size? How do the muscles work on those, exactly? Are they hooked onto your normal shoulder muscles or is there an entire new group there to support the weight and the function?
[ And if he's stepping forward to look with absolutely no concern for personal space, well, maybe it's his way of making Steve feel better and maybe it's his own curiousity. Will he ever tell? Absolutely not. Howard can talk a mile a minute and keep every bit of what he thinks or feels to himself and that's exactly how he likes it. ]
