- The Reserve date is MAY 20ST 12:01AM EST.
- There is an Enable Me / App this Plz to see what some people are offering or would love to play.
- Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
- Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR: The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.
1-A (Sorry for the book)
In other ways, he's very different. Four large blue and black wings stretch out from behind him, his shirt tailored with holes to allow them to fit. His other changes can currently be hidden with gloves and boots, but wings were too large for any trick of the wardrobe.
Despite his short time here, he knows Bavan will be where they show up, the next set of new arrivals. To stay up to date, to stay current, he has to know who those people are. Part of him would like it to be someone from his own world, someone from a future that will let him know how things happen, but he also knows that's statistically unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely.
Before he even sees the familiar blonde hair, he hears the familiar name: Misa-Misa. It's a name said in her own voice, a third-person habit she had picked up somewhere. Maybe psychology would say it was a way to disengage herself from the bad things that had happened, maybe she had had it even before then. Light doesn't know, he's never bothered to question it.
He has no choice. L is here, Misa can't be roaming around like a lost puppy. For a moment, he hesitates. No one else from home had seen him in this disgusting form, no one human aside from the locals were able to gawk. For the first time, he finds himself hesitant about approaching Misa. Light hates himself like this. Somehow, if he approaches her, it feels like they would all know what he is now.
No, he'll find a cure and return home.
When he approaches, it's from behind.]
Misa, don't turn around yet. [Will she listen? Light has various success on getting her to.] How long have you been here?
ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUE
But just as she's about to turn on her heel, she's told to stay put, and far be it for her to do something to get him upset with her, especially considering how hard she botched his last request for her. Even so, her heart is pounding out of her chest just at the idea. Light is here, thank God, she doesn't know how or why but somehow he made it here with her and everything was going to be just fine, better than fine--
So as much as she wants to squeeze him so hard he'll burst at the seams, she refrains from doing so. There's probably some kind of reason he doesn't want her to look behind her, and she trusts him completely... ]
Thank God, it's you...
[ Is she really about to tear up? Probably! She had been so worried, after all..! ]
It's only been about half a day or so, but, it felt like forever...I'm so glad you found me!
I GET EXCITED
In a way, she had done something particularly intelligent in getting what she wants. Now, it's no longer safe to let her wander around with all of her secrets. Misa's managed to put herself exactly where she planned, even with Light plotting otherwise. It's not something lost on him.
No, maybe this is a good thing. Despite what Light thinks of her intelligence, he recognizes her ability to charm. Who better to convince everyone that Light is the good, upstanding citizen he is than an actress of her caliber? There are things to address first, such as the fact he's no longer fully human. She wouldn't be either, not in another month.]
A day and a half would have given you enough time to see the monsters. They're entirely real. [His hands come to rest on her thin shoulders, hands triggered by worry his words will make her curious enough to turn.] It's not a slow introduction but for now, that's the world we're in.
[What does she remember? Could she help more than he thought?] It's already started happening for me, it will happen for you too.
I'M SO GLAD, REALLY
Y-yeah, I've seen a couple of them already. It's a little scary...and it's really not a joke? We're gonna turn into monsters, too? But...
[ It just doesn't make any sense. How did they even get here to begin with? And why was this happening? So many questions... ]
So...do you know how to get back? Have you been stuck here longer than I have? It can't be that much longer, I just saw you and Ryuzaki the other day...unless Misa-Misa was knocked out for longer than she thought before ending up here? Aaah, this is so confusing, it's making my head hurt...
Me too! <3
Says the man with dragonfly wings spanning from his back.]
It's nothing so simple. I've been here a month, and I've already started my own changes. [Light doesn't look nearly as hideous as some, but that's no real consolation. 'It could be worse' really isn't a good argument.]
The time conflict isn't easy to explain and for now, it's just important to accept it's a possibility. [Which is horribly annoying to say. Magic doesn't follow rules, and that's still hard to accept.] There are things that you will see here that seem like they belong in one of your movies.
[Slowly, he releases her shoulders.] You can turn now, but prepare yourself.

A whole month...weren't you lonely? To be away from Misa-Misa and everyone for that long in a place like this, I'm so sorry...
[ It's such a shame...she nuzzles the back of her head into his chest, just to offer a little bit of support. ]
Well, we've seen enough things even back home that are so out of the ordinary that I can sorta believe it.
[ Notebooks that can kill people, gods of death that love apples...still, she nods and turns around. She doesn't know what she was expecting, but, the wings, and the carapace, and... ]
Light, you look so...cool!
[ As if she'd have any other reaction. It's Light, after all. He could be brutally disfigured in some kind of accident tomorrow and Misa would still think he looks amazing.
...Not that that's an invitation, but... ]
Those wings, they're such a pretty color! Can you fly with them yet?! Misa-Misa is so jealous, you look awesome!

Light has been a lot of things in the last month. Despite what many might assume, there are parts of home he longs for. Safety, a reputation, money, power: all of them are things he's had to slowly build up here. However, he does miss his family. And being Kira.]
That's really not a word I would use for them. [Some might consider them more than human, but Light now feels less. He's adjusting as much as has to to thrive, but he plans on getting his human form back.] But yeah, they're functional. Being a monster does come with some enhanced abilities...
[If Misa is in the open, L can find her.]
But we don't have to talk here. I have an apartment in the city. It's not safe for you to be in the streets.

Enhanced abilities...if Misa-Misa gets something that neat-looking, she'll be lucky. The last thing I need is to turn into some sort of hobgoblin or a troll or something ugly...my cute charm is vital, after all!
[ The operation with Higuchi definitely wouldn't have gone so well if she wasn't so cute, in any case. ]
Going somewhere more private would be better, though, yes! Especially if, well, you wanna talk about what I think you wanna talk about. Let's get going, then! You should lead the way!
[ Time to discuss business, she supposes. Always business with him at one point or another... ]

[Despite his research, predicting much seems impossible.
The city itself is quite old fashioned, especially compared to what the two of them know. Light does have the ability to use rings to teleport them, but he would have to remove one of his current three, and it's good for Misa to get a look at her new surroundings.]
You're in Ryslig now, Bavan specifically. It's not a world that most people would know us, but L is also here.
[Would that surprise her? Would she think him dead? If she didn't, would that mean she wasn't from a future, or that his plan had failed?]
no subject
[ At least she's trying to remain optimistic! While this definitely isn't anything like Tokyo, at least it doesn't seem like too terrible of a place, now that she sees what's around her. ]
So L is here, too, huh...ugh, of course he is.
[ She scowls, more frustrated with herself than anything...it doesn't look like she's surprised, though. For some reason, they just can't seem to shake him. ...Actually, on that note, let's look around for just a bit and keep our voices low before muttering out... ]
I still can't believe I forgot his name...if I remembered, maybe you wouldn't have to deal with this right now. ...Actually, you haven't seen Rem around or anything, have you? Normally, she'd be following me, but, I can't find her anywhere...
no subject
Having L dead wouldn't change rather or not he would be here. Somehow, even the dead come to life in Ryslig. [It's not the closest walk... and there is a chance that L will see them. Work is close enough that Light can get there by foot, or wing, tomorrow.]
But no, Rem likely wouldn't have come with you. This isn't the same as Tokyo, Misa. We were taken from Japan and put here, and nothing followed us.
[Instead of the main streets, he begins to lead her down an ally.] Ryuk isn't here either, and L was here long before me.
