TEST DRIVE

Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:

• You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
• We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!
• Ryslig's FAQ is located here, so please take a look if you have questions.


• The Reserve date is 01/29.
• Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
• Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.

Sample scenarios:

SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...

SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

SCENARIO FOUR:The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.

Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

[He doesn't hit one of the pamphlet wavers, but he might find what he did hit just as annoying, just in a different way. Luke had hesitated to approach Asch, but decides that being hit by a paper ball is reason enough to actually speak up.]

You know, there are trash cans for a reason...

[ There was the familiar feeling of annoyance creeping up his neck, and Asch froze where he stood, slowly turning to look at the replica behind him. Only instead of the usual mockery of his face staring back at him, it was... different, with horns (though one of them was broken... why was he not surprised?), and there were wings, and... ]

[ Maybe he should have taken that last pamphlet a little more seriously. ]

Replica? What...?

[He flinches slightly at 'Replica', having not heard anyone refer to him as such (at least not outside of his dreams) in almost a year and a half, according to the local calendar.]

Nice to see you, too. Sorry you ended up here.

[ Would he have rather called him dreck? He had least managed to keep that down since Rem, but... ] [ Irritation hit Asch almost immediately, and suddenly some winged freak of nature or not, he was stomping over to the replica, grabbing him by his shirt. ] What are you doing here!? Why aren't you going after Van!?

[Hey, careful with the shirt, it's hard to get custom-made shirts that actually last a decent amount of time.

Luke's response to being grabbed is automatically reaching up to grab Asch's wrist, lightly pressing claw tips into his original's skin.]

It's not like I'm here on purpose! I'd rather be going after Van, but I got dragged here by some 'god' thing and I can't leave!

[ ...dammit, dreck, you're more of a monster than ever before. His eyes flicked down at those claws for a moment, before that irritated gaze of his was back. Monster or not, it was still his stupid replica; and what the hell was he spouting on about? "God"? What was that? ] It's still your own fault for getting kidnapped! [ Says Mr. Zero Room to Talk. ]

[He wasn't trying to be, it was reflex. Not that it made anything better, but he tried so hard to pretend he wasn't a monster or it was just temporary or something that wasn't the reality.

It worked sometimes, and then he ended up very disappointed.

Asch was a lot weaker than Luke was, at that moment. Luke could probably tear his arm half off if he had the mind to, but the thought disturbed him and he quickly pushed it out of his head.]

You were too! ...Right? You didn't get here under your own power, you couldn't have...

[ ...oh you are an ass, dreck. Asch's eyebrow twitched, and that was the only warning Luke got before he was shoved away. His hand went to his side immediately after, ready to draw his blade... which wasn't there. He let out an irritated growl, looking like he wanted to punch him.] Sh-shut up, dreck!
