JANUARY TEST DRIVE MEME

- You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
- We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!
- Ryslig's FAQ is located here, so please take a look if you have questions.
- The Reserve date is 01/29.
- Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
- Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR:The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.
coherent enough for me
He doesn't bite the hand over his mouth, more focused on staring up at the figure that is both interested in saving (ugh) him and keeping him hostage with these... vines?
Dio isn't afraid. He's annoyed and it shows in the glare he's currently smoldering into the mystery man's skull. His normally floppy ears twitch in agitation repeatedly as he waits for the hand to be removed.]
VICTORY
[So it goes. It's not as though he's particularly thrilled with the state of affairs here, but you'd think these men would know better. Trading in monster parts . . .]
[He sighs, and it blends in with the crashing of the men through the underbrush. His lip curls in what is, for him, extreme irritation; he pulls Dio protectively to his chest and then--]
[A chorus of yelping, as one after another the men are lifted off the ground by their ankles and deposited high in the nearest tree. Giorno sighs, in relief this time. He doesn't like them there, in his space, his place, but it could certainly be worse, and now they can be dealt with.]
[A heartbeat or two and he lets go, his vines retreating and wrapping themselves up into a neat braid falling down his back. He takes a pace backwards, another one, and tips his head at Dio in curiosity. But he doesn't say another word.]
no subject
Without thinking he rubs at the base of one of his horns when a stray leaf tickles his hair. If Giorno expected gratitude he will be extremely disappointed.]
I didn't need your help.
no subject
[Which isn't to say he's interested in engaging in the sass attack. He just gives a muted smile and glances up the tree at the cargo safely deposited in its branches. They seem fairly confused by the concept of "tree" at the moment.]
You weren't looking where you were going. Do you want to kill them, or should I?
no subject
The offer doesn't surprise him so much as hearing someone else actually give him the option. He's only ever killed once, and while he wouldn't hesitate to do it again it's... strange to hear another speak so freely of it. He raises a brow in question at Giorno.]
You put them there. It's not my responsibility now.
no subject
[You could just say no, little buddy. Giorno cranes his neck up to look at them. It's honestly such a conundrum. In an ideal world, which this obviously is not, he would feed only on the guilty, and these men are obviously guilty. On the other hand . . .]
[Put it this way: he is used to finer food than refuse.]
[Oh, well.]
Do you think they deserve to die a painless death?
[This time he doesn't wait for an answer. He chooses two of them, and his vines unravel again, sliding up the trunk to wrap around their necks and tighten. The third, ostensibly the leader, is trapped, watching.]
[So that's his opinion.]
no subject
[Dio follows his gaze back up into the tree branches, stepping forward once to finally see what Giorno has rigged up inside the labyrinth of branches. His eyes widen.
And then a smile, slow to start, pulls at his lips as he watches two men being strangled to death up in a tree. Giorno doesn't need to hear his answer because his reaction is enough on its own. Let them suffer.
After a moment he snaps himself out of his pleasant trance in watching the show and looks back to Giorno, schooling his face back to complete composure.]
You're very strange. Do you realize that?
no subject
I can't imagine why you'd say that.
[Yeah, he sure did just say that with a straight face.]
