TEST DRIVE

Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:

• You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
• We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!
• Ryslig's FAQ is located here, so please take a look if you have questions.


• The Reserve date is 01/29.
• Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
• Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.

Sample scenarios:

SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...

SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

SCENARIO FOUR:The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.

Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

But he's so wimpy that she just lets him go with a little shove, turning attention back to the woods in general.]

STOP GIGGLING AND SHOW YOURSELF!

[The push and generally being off balance is enough to knock him backwards onto his ass with a grunt. He stays there for a second, letting her get the yelling out before standing back up and brushing himself off.

Part of him wants to get away from Miss Angry Not-Asuka as soon as possible, but that would take him back to being alone. In the scary woods. Yeah, that's not really an option.]

They're not going to answer. Especially if they know how you're going to react if you find them.

[You're still here? Why are you still here? Go away.]

[Shinji frowns. Cold shoulder. Okay, maybe being antagonizing wasn't going to help the situation, but he still doesn't want to be alone. What's the best way to ask if she was lost too without getting another...reaction?]

Hey, uh, do you know a way out of here? I've been going around in circles for a while.

[brothersboots]

[Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. He's just not going away. With a look of utter disgust, she turns around and blinks slowly.]

If you think I knew the way out of here that I'd be here with you, then you're as stupid as you look.

[lastnerv]

["Yes and I'm having such a good time with you" is what he wants to say. Wants to. His limited sense of elf-preservation takes over, though.]

Then maybe we should stick together until we find a way out. There's safety in numbers, right? [He quickly adds.] And then after we get out of here we can just go our separate ways and never talk again.

[As terrible as this is it's kind of a relief to find another person. A totally human one, too.]

[You are having an absolutely smashing time with her. Don't even try to deny it. You're still alive. That's a plus.

She eyes him up and down with a hard, cool look in her eyes, disgust still frankly displayed over her face.]

As if I'd associate myself with a wimp like you on purpose.

[She picks a direction and starts to walk, not caring if he follows or not. His problem, not hers.]

I'm not a- [He trails off with a sigh. Why bother?]

[He doesn't follow right away. Instead, he takes one last look into the woods behind him, trying to decide if his own words were true. Was this a good idea?

For just a second, he thinks he sees something move behind a tree. Yeah, okay, fuck this place. He hurries to catch up to Edna, walking alongside her.]

[For a brief second, Edna was almost sure that she'd be rid of this kid. Sure, she'd accosted him and pushed him around, but a part of her secretly hoped that her first assessment of his character was wrong.

Turns out, it's not.

She looks back as she sees him walking quickly to catch up and she slows down a little. She'll never admit it, but she doesn't feel okay with truly abandoning him to his own devices. It's not as if she feels better that he's there with her either. Nope, not at all.]

Decide you didn't want to be left in the creepy woods by yourself after all?

[Shinji gives a slight shrug, carefully stepping over an exposed root.] It wasn't a hard choice. Like I said, this is better. Besides, I'm used to-

-being around people who don't want me there. I'm very persistent. [Is he joking? It's hard to tell.]
