- Ryslig's FAQ is located here, so please take a look if you have questions.
- The Reserve date is 01/29.
- Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
- Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR:The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
She stops when she see's the large unimpressive web. It's far to big for a spider of this forest so she looks around to see it's maker.
Her Claws lightly pull on her brown cloak as if the chill suddenly became too much.]
Re: [ 3 - ARACHNID ]
Oh ... ?
[ His voice rises above the miscellany of the other forest noises, and it quickly becomes apparent who made the web before her. Gilgamesh scuttles (not steps) from behind a close grouping of trees he'd been using as one of the posts for his web, easily towering over this girl with the height from his arachnid legs. After a quick look over her he can quickly surmise: ]
You're not one of the villagers.
[ But there's still a hunger in how, a predatory sort of want. ]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
I am not.
[Her voice is soft and yet able to more and pierce through the air to be heard. As he skitters forward a primal instinct presses at Yeul’s senses: flight or fight. She hides it well, having practice controlling her expressions but her claws twitch as if ready to move.]
We are not the only monsters in these woods.
Re: [ 3 - ARACHNID ]
I have realized as much.
[ He draws closer still, the scuttle of his legs a little uneven across the ground, the amount of limbs still something he has yet to be accustomed to. ]
Yet you are the one who has crossed my path.
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
She takes a small step back, her features still displaying a quiet composure that isn't easily broken.]
I heard you building your web.
[Her voice is soft and steady as she faces the stranger.]
You need practice.
[Yeul's eye contact never wavers and each word is spoken as a statement as if she knows that everything she says is undeniable fact.]
Re: [ 3 - ARACHNID ]
I am unused to this form.
[ That much is obvious, and that much he admits to. He won't delude himself about his experience with this body. This entire style ... of hiding, lying in wait for others to fall into his traps, is one he dislikes. He prefers more of a front on confrontation. ]
But that hardly matters.
[ His voice is filled with confidence and with a sudden move forward he bends, trying to reach down and cup her face with clawed fingertips. ]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
Why is that?
[She watches as his finger reach forward quickly to grab her chin. He's much taller than her and their difference in height is more noticeably with him standing so close. Her eyes narrow slightly, emerald reflective green shimmering darkly up at him.]
Release me.
Re: [ 3 - ARACHNID ]
[ It's an assumption, really, the sort Gilgamesh makes often. He himself isn't used to his lack of power -- in his home he was overwhelmingly one of the strongest beings alive, but here he was reduced to the level of one of the more common monsters. And an inexperienced one, at that. He doesn't listen to her request, instead trying to force her head to the side, bare the pale neck that seems so appealing right now with his hunger still prominent in his mind. ]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
Her feet then push off from the ground increasing the distance between them by several yards. She isn't a full Manticore and doesn't have her stinger or wings yet but she's quick and her claws are very sharp. She crouches down like the feline she resembles, the hair on the back of her neck and arms rising.]
You don't know me or the monsters you'll face here.
[Her voice remains steady though her heart begins to race as instinct takes hold.]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
One thing that is nice for this form is deceptively how fast he can be, despite the size of it. She crouches but he charges forward, the full weight of him looking to run her down and try to pin her under one of his spiny legs. ]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
She turns as he bares down on top of her and slashes out at him frantically trying to pull herself away from him.]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
A slight growl echoes from her chest as her instincts take control.]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
[ With his original abilities Gilgamesh might have taunted her, maybe complimented her on her will to fight. But he's only feeling frustration with how alien this body feels as strong as it may be. He stalks forward even with the claws against his legs, trying to make more and more points of contact between their tips and her to thoroughly pin her down. ]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
She wants to survive.]
No!
[She glares at him, her thin frame continuing to wiggle against his hold.]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
Yeul’s hair is dark and very long. His fingers easily lace between the silky tresses and any tug would cause the seeress to cry out in pain.]

Re: [ 3 - ARACHNID ]
S-stop.
[She struggles to speak and while she’s facing her death there is no fear in her eyes only the calm determination to get away. She already knows what it’s like to die.]
Re: [ 3 - ARACHNID ]
[ But again, he doesn't seem entirely displeased with her calm determination, her lack of fear. In the face of danger it is an admirable trait, to not lose one's composure. But that's not about to make him merciful with her, not with the hunger still so present in his mind. She scratches him, claws catching on his clothing, but that's a minor deterrent at this point and he tries to force her head back so her neck is bared. ]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
I don’t want to die again.
[She already knows what it feels like when your heart stops beating.]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
[ After his experience at home ... dying of starvation in some backwards village was not at all how he wanted to go out, after perishing so soon ago. His sharp, long teeth show themselves -- and her struggling is making this difficult, forcing him to take a tighter grip in her hair as his weight cants forward with her movement. But still he tries to keep her head at the angle it is and lean forward, sink his fangs into the arch of her neck. ]
[ 3 - ARACHNID ]
Her breathing is heavy and her eyes are lidded as the searing sensation pulls her focus away from fighting back.]
S-stop.
[Her voice was weak now and she couldn't do more than weakly beg him.]
