TEST DRIVE: NOVMEMEBER (get it because it's a meme)

TEST DRIVE
Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:

  • You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
  • We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!
  • Ryslig's FAQ is located here, so please take a look if you have questions.
  • The reserve date is 11/27.
  • Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
  • Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.

Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...

SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

SCENARIO FOUR:The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.

Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

There's no need for an apology. [She smiles easily.] It was only a rock, after all.

[It's not like he stole a comfy cushion or anything. She might have been a little less willing to give her seat up, if that was the case.

His question is what causes her composure to break for the first time. It's only for a brief moment or two, and the expression that passes over her face could be described as "chagrined." She knows the answer isn't going to make her look very good... ah, well.]

A couple of hours, I suppose... well, it's probably closer to four or five, at this rate.

[She is hopelessly, utterly lost.]

Yes, of course...

[ It's true, he's getting worked up over a rock of all things. That's rather embarrassing, please ignored how flustered he kind of looks now. He rubs his neck as he tries to change the subject. Gotta get rid of this awkwardness! ]

F-four or five hours... [ That's actually longer than how long he's been running around. At least Sen can keep herself looking nice though. ] It's okay, my situation is the same. I'm having trouble finding my way out of here.

[ In fact, Slaine regrets leaving the town now, even if he wasn't really getting much aide there. ]

[Granted, she's been spending a good portion of the time she's been lost taking it easy, so that probably helps with not looking like she's been stumbling around in the woods for ages and ages.]

I didn't think it would be quite this difficult to find my way out when I entered, honestly. [Though perhaps she should have. They're in an unfamiliar place where people turn into monsters and the locals are torn between wanting to help them and wanting them dead. Ah, well - hindsight is 20/20.]

Still! Our luck hasn't quite run out. Two heads are better than one, and I'm sure that once we're both sufficiently rested we'll be able to find our way out together.

[Sen has joined Slaine's party! Or Slaine has joined Sen's, one or the other. There's no choice in the matter either, oops.]

[ Cue the little rpg sound effect! ]

That is true. [ And for once, Slaine is actually smiling a little since he's arrived here. ] It's best if we find our way out before it grows dark. It will only get more dangerous from then on.

[ The whole business with humans turning into monsters still seems far fetched, but in the event that it is true, they're more well known to be active at night. It's a very common trait behind the folklore. Also, it's dangerous to run around without a light source, especially when they also have to avoid the carnivorous plant life.

That thought alone motivates Slaine to stand up from his seat. ]

I think it's better if we go now. If you're still tired, I can carry you.

[ Please do not underestimate these skinny arms. ]

I suppose you're right.

["Wandering around after dark" is probably pretty high on Kimigiku's list of Thing Sen Should Not Do, right up there with "wandering around in creepy woods all alone" and "wandering off with strangers" - which means she's going to be doing three of those things today, seeing as she's not about to just ditch Slaine and leave him to fend for himself.

She smiles, and as Slaine gets up, she rises to her feet and plucks her shawl off the ground.]

That's very kind of you to offer! I think I'll be alright for the moment, but I'll let you know should I need help. [If she doesn't overexert herself, she won't need help. Maybe.

She extends an arm to him.]
Shall we, then?
