Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.

Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
NEW! Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 3 coins per bonus coin group (so 6 total) by replying to potential character threads! You will need to have your normal 20 comment AC in the game. You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it if you are missing some threads to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: You've heard about the fog, but you've never seen it before. Now, the mist surrounds you. Barely able to see before you, you need to get home - and fast. It's far too dangerous in this situation.
SCENARIO FOUR: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
Nui's attracted to suffering like a fly, and she finds herself following Kurumi's silent tears down the streets of Vandare. How fortunate that she'd come back here just to find these fresh-faced children, frightened and angry. Teenagers are always so emotionally volatile!
Her changes have taken her slowly, which has left her mostly-human-looking save for horns and teeth and strange, gradually sharpened and elongated features. But the way she just introduces herself immediately into Kurumi's personal space with no worries about her comfort or about getting punched in the face, well, that's weird for anyone.]
It's so hard to get used to, isn't it?
[Nui sidles over with her hands under her chin, leaning on what appears to be midair. Maybe there's supposed to be a parasol or a sword (or a shovel or a two x four or - ), but whatever that is, it's a phantom, and she's bracing herself against noting at all.]
[Why wouldn't the throbbing go away? The fever has but the pain was still there. Maybe it was just the stress of being suddenly separated from the group. Kurumi's good at controlling her sobbing. It's a skill that she had to cultivate since that day on the roof--it wouldn't be good if Yuki caught her sobbing, after all.
Now, though, as she walks down the streets of Vandare with tears on her face and hands in her pockets something strange does happen. Someone unknown gets into her personal space. Kurumi wipes eyes on the back of her arm.]
What's it to you?
[She backs up a step, taking in her sharp features. And the teeth. And the horns. The fact that she's seemingly leaning in midair doesn't bother her as much as those other facts. Being around Yuki Takeya would do that to a person.]
You're the one walking around making the place all sensitive and depressing! [Given how depressing Vandare looks normally, it's a good joke.] I was just minding my business, and here you are boo-hooing!
[Nui drops her hands from their makeshift perch and shifts into a more normal standing position, going pigeon-toed.]
What is it that's got your goat? You miss your, you know, your family?
[Time to launch a fishing expedition of unprecedented proportions to find where Kurumi is weakest. And if it's the monster business - the business of being a monster - that's got her so torn up, then Nui has some things to say to that, too.]
It's just allergies. [...Yeah. Sure. She knows it's a poor lie and winces as she said it. Kurumi gives her a glare.] And even if I was, I was doing it quietly.
[She stares at her then shakes her head.]
Family? No. [Kurumi isn't a fool. She knows what's probably happened to her family. Her parents, that is.] Haven't seen them in a while; I don't have a reason to start missing them now.
[But you're close, Nui. You can do it!]

[Oh, that was lousy. That was really lousy. Nui pouts and balloons her cheeks out in disappointment. SO lousy! It doesn't even deserve a laugh at her expense.]
Independent at a young age! I like that! It's good you're used to it, because you definitely won't be seeing them again now!
[She moves to grab Kurumi's shoulder under the pretense of being comforting, a comrade.] So what is it? If you're living independently, it can't be your home... [Who would cry over a cheap one-person apartment?] You got friends? A boyfriend? You're a little young, right?
I didn't need you telling me that! [She knows she won't see her parents. But. A touch is a touch and it takes her a moment to pull away from the touch. This person was strange but not in a Yuki sort of way. More like... she wasn't sure.]
I'm just about to graduate high school--I'm not that young. [...] I'm just a freeloader at school who lives with a club, alright? Sure. I miss them.
Really? Wowie, then you're super moe! [Those pigtails, that stature...! Small and cute to the core.
Nui takes the lack of recoil as encouragement, in her own special way. She doesn't really look like the type to live at school because it enriches her intellectually or anything. It has to be something else - probably some kind of delinquency.]
I can't imagine anybody who'd want to live like that...Then again, I had the worst experience with school! [Her eye goes dewy as she forces a tear into it. So very hard...so much struggle.]
What--I'm not! [If she had a shovel she'd be swinging it at this point. She does, however, jump back and glare at her. Daring her to touch her.]
Yeah, well. [She coughs and takes a breath. Time to make like Yuuri and recite part of the charter. ] School Living Club members not only attend classes but live their whole lives at school, so as to grow closer with the many departments and with them foster self-governance and independence, and set an example for all to follow!
[She does stop for a moment. That tear looks fake but...] School's hard for everyone but the School Living Club tries to make every day fun.
