Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note: You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely. We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance! Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look. The reserve date has been announced . Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample! NEW! Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 3 coins per bonus coin group (so 6 total) by replying to potential character threads! You will need to have your normal 20 comment AC in the game. You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it if you are missing some threads to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply. Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next. Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch... SCENARIO THREE: You've heard about the fog, but you've never seen it before. Now, the mist surrounds you. Barely able to see before you, you need to get home - and fast. It's far too dangerous in this situation. SCENARIO FOUR: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

[ She follows, not quite as easily as he climbed down, but she makes it all the same. ]

Nope. Does the name Roxxon mean anything to you?

[ She doesn't think it will, but you never know. ]

It sounds like a gas company.

[there's a pause] ...If I tried to explain half of it -

It's this way. [He makes a move to grab her shoulder and turn her towards what looks like a vague dark part of the forest.]

...Are they good guys or bad guys?

Bad, definitely bad. But the New Ultimates stopped them, for the most part.

[ He grabs her and turns her towards a shady break in the mist and she hesitates. ]

Are you sure you know where you're going?

[evilhandissues]

[He stops walking and looks back to her before he pulls the guitar off his back and offers it to her.]

I'm so sure that if I'm wrong you can break that. And it's the most precious thing I own.

[There's the vaguest lost look in his gaze] And it scares the hell outta me. I've been dreaming about mazes. Forests, rocks, cities.

[Silence. Then.]

Never heard of them.

[wolfram and hart probably has.]

[bombshelled]

[ She takes the guitar, holding it warily as she nods and follows him once more. ]

They're, uh, kind of new as far as teams go. Spider-Man, Black Widow, Bombshell, Cloak & Dagger...

[ There's Kitty, too, but Lana's never sure if she goes by her real name or a codename. ]

[evilhandissues]

[He turns to look at her, looking angry before he shakes it away.] Those are some messed up names, but what the hell do I know. The last two people I saw were named Angel and Spike.

[There's a whuff as he lifts up a branch for her. There's light at the end of the path]

And no, they weren't go-go dancers.

[bombshelled]

[ Yeah, those definitely sound like stripper names. ]

Wait, so you've never heard of Spider-Man? Either one of them? Where are you from?

[ Oh thank god, a light up ahead. She ducks under the branch, careful not to scrape the guitar. ]

[evilhandissues]

It could be because we're from other dimensions. It could be because I get tunnel vision in places like this. [He grunts, shuffling his way along the path] First is more likely.

...Brace yourself I'm about to sound like a crazy person.

[Says the super muscular guy who's eyes are glinting gold in the darkness]

[bombshelled]

You already sound like a crazy person.

[ Except hadn't Miles said something about another universe? Like theirs but different? Maybe this was like that. ]

[evilhandissues]

[He laughs]

There are lots of dimensions. Multiple ones even.

[bombshelled]

[ She just shrugs. That's not too crazy. But magic? Monsters? ]

So you're saying, anything's possible?

[evilhandissues]

Possible and probable. There's a whole dimension that's made of nothing but shrimp.

[And just like that, there's a line of rocks and trees. He points.] You can hand me my guitar back.

[bombshelled]

[ She stares, numbly handing over the guitar. ]

...Where are we?

[ Still in the forest, obviously, but this looks completely different from where she was before. ]

[evilhandissues]

Edge of the forest. Heading back the way we came. [He stretches and there's another rip.

He grunts.] Stupid old thing.

Way I came in at least. Town's right there.

[bombshelled]

You'd be better off just taking it off. [ There's really no saving that shirt by this point. ]

Which town?

[ She'd been here long enough to learn there were more than one town. ]

[evilhandissues]

[After a moment of looking at her, expression unreadable he shucks it. Underneath it's clear that something's not right - he's built like a body builder, like a tank with a very light coating of brown hair all across the most of it. He grunts.]

Outskirts of Bavan. Least it was Bavan when I left.

[bombshelled]

[ Okay that's... weird. It had been clear that he was muscular as fuck, but... ] Have you always been furry?

[evilhandissues]

[Lindsey is pretty open minded. Used to the unusual - it comes with the territory with Wolfram and Hart, but the fur...]

No.

But it's nice to have a little extra hair to be honest.

[bombshelled]

Especially if shirts won't fit you.

[ Though she really hopes she doesn't go growing any fur. That would be gross. ]

[evilhandissues]

[Lindsey's eyes narrow. He shrugs his massive shoulders.] ...Sometimes I wonder if this is just me accepting it. I mean I always knew I was a monster but...what can you do y'know?

[bombshelled]

[ Lana looks suddenly concerned as she walks alongside him. ]

Why do you say that?

[evilhandissues]

I worked for evil incarnate.

[He sighs] tried to leave. Tried to get back in, realized I didn't want back in before I died.

...I think.

[bombshelled]

You... died? But how?

[evilhandissues]

[You're not part of the solution Lindsey, and you never will be.]

I tried to make a break for doing good. Someone who saw the future said I'd never be good.

So he shot me.

[bombshelled]

Dick.

[ It's her immediate response. Everyone has the potential to do good, even if they started off doing bad. Look at her. ]
