Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.

The reserve date has been announced (it was changed to the 30th to allow a maximum number of people compared to a Friday).
Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
NEW! Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 3 coins by replying to potential character threads! You will need to have your normal 20 comment AC in the game. You cannot use this to go over the bonus 10 coins per month total, but you can use it if you are missing some threads to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: You've heard about the fog, but you've never seen it before. Now, the mist surrounds you. Barely able to see before you, you need to get home - and fast. It's far too dangerous in this situation.
SCENARIO FOUR: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
[ aaaand there's a familiar voice. tim fumbles and almost drops the basket of food, but salvages it and ends up flapping around the brochure in a wave. nisha's definitely not the worst person from back home tim could see here, and so he's actually smiling, even if the tone of her voice worries him just a bit. ]

[ and that bright expression falls a notch when he notes those sprouting horns. he tries not to stare, though truth be told he ends up staring at nisha in general when she's around, monstrous changes or not. ]
So they weren't kidding with all of this monster mumbo jumbo, were they.
[It takes her a second or two of watching him for the clumsiness to hit home. For the fact that he's Jack but not to register with the slow, arched lift of her brows in earnest.] Not-Jack?
[And from there, she's grinning. Actually grinning because hot damn, that's a beautiful face she never expected to see in a place as screwed up as this. One hand finds its way to his cheek, patting it in (slightly hard) earnest.] Ho-ho-holy shit, you're still alive.
[But he's looking upwards instead of meeting her stare and-- oh, right.] Nope. Totally awesome, right?
[ tim nods eagerly, not even minding the slight sting of how hard nisha's patting at him. he feels just a hint embarrassed at how big he's sure he's grinning, but hey, it's no secret that he gets along well enough with nisha.
he forces his gaze down to make proper eye contact, though it's difficult considering how fascinated he is with the glittering eridium now situated on nisha's head. it's...kinda creepy, but also really cool. ]
Could be worse? I mean, you could gore people with those things. Totally your style.
Duh. [Not that she has yet, but hey, they're growing in - give it time. Her lips purse as she steps back to give the kid room to breathe, one appraising glance cutting through with clarity the reminder that Jack's either gonna be real happy or real pissed that his double can't pass anymore.

[It's a probing question: she's already cocked her chin down towards the bundle of gifted fruit in his arms.]
[ he looks down at the basket himself and extends it out to nisha, wordlessly offering her whatever she wants to grab from it. it's mostly things like bread and fruit, but hey, food is food, unless nisha's changes have also presented, uh, dietary ones already. ]
You happen to know what the hell a "bunnypip" is? Should I be worried?
[ it's certainly not a malicious comment. nisha is the type of woman who figures shit out on her own rather than, well, reading brochures, and he knows that. tim promptly tosses his own brochure over his shoulder. ]
You probably know what's up better than these guys since you've been here. So...crash course?

[And, because it's him, she adds, fixing a wayward strand of his hair with clawed fingertips:] Hurts. A lot.

Jack's gonna be pissed about all this, isn't he? The, uh, I'm not gonna look like him anymore thing.
[It's a knowing smile-- maybe even something that parallels sympathy or empathy, or Nisha's own, twisted version of it-- that's angled his way as her fingertips move towards his collar instead, smoothing it down before falling away.]

[Real pissed. Real fast.] I mean we could always pay off the local nutjob to pick up a digital hologram from home, but getting Jack to spend the cash is gonna be a hard sell.
[ tim leans his head towards nisha's hand and lets out a brief, deliberately stilted sigh. he considers his feelings towards his boss pretty damn obvious, but bitching about it, especially to said boss' girlfriend, will do no good. so he straightens up, running a hand through his hair. ]
Ehh. It'll get figured out.
[ optimism! sort of! ... not really. even if he was the one that brought it up, tim doesn't want to think too much about the shit end of things at the moment. ]
