Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look.
You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
[He stops a moment, thinking.] But there's two of us, so what if you plug your ears and lead the way, and I'll keep watch for anything that might come trying to attack us?
[Killua returns the gesture and then tucks his hands into his pockets. He steps behind Gon so he could follow. Walking side by side might subconsciously steer Gon towards him, and just run them in circles again.]
[ Gon continues to walk forward. He focuses on what's in front of him, and nothing else. If anything, then being able to walk forward could help him and Killua both find a way out of the forest. ]
[There was another problem, he thought. People tended to favour their dominate foot, meaning that if one walked in a straight line long enough, that line would gradually curve to the right or left.
While Killua trusted Gon's senses, there wasn't any way to compensate for that. If you tried, you'd simply veer off in the other direction.
For now he just scratched the park of passing trees with his nails, leaving a visual indicator of where they'd been, and in what direction they'd been walking.]
[ Gon keeps moving forward, only paying attention the twigs beneath his feet - the fallen leaves, and the fallen branches. He keeps his mind focused, moving forward. Hopefully at this rate, they'd find their way out.
He wasn't scared. Situations like this wasn't something completely foreign to him. ]
[Killua was feeling a little uneasy, but it didn't show as he just methodically marked an occasional tree along their path.
He was leaving this up to Gon, it was just his job to make sure they kept track of whether or not they were making progress, and of any incoming attacks.
[Killua follows suit, continuing to leave scratches behind them with one hand while the other remained in his pocket.]
Good, keep going! [Gon should still be able to hear him, but he makes sure to raise his voice a bit just in case. He hasn't sensed anything hostile nearby, so he's hardly worried.]
Killua, your idea worked! [ He's increasing his pace into a jog. Though, he hadn't minded that so much - the challenge of getting out was rather exciting. ]
Yeah, unless you wake up some kind of witch--shhh! [He presses his fingers to his lips, half-joking and half-serious given the unknown nature of the forest.]

[Seriously Gon, you've been missing for ages and he was getting worried...]

no subject
Yeah. You hear it too, don't you?
no subject
There's no one nearby.

Since I've entered this place, something's been...off. I can't find my way back.
no subject
[ He has his suspicions, but he wants to know if Killua feels the same way he does. ]

Or we're unconsciously following the sound of that laughter, which is leading us in circles.

[ Then, they wouldn't be distracted. That was good thinking, though. Killua was smart like always. ]

no subject
[ He nods, expression growing more determined and focused ]
I'm counting on you, Killua.
no subject
Plug your ears.

Let's get going!

Easy enough... Gon didn't seemed worried either.]
