[It's surprising for Basil to hear that, if the way he gasps a little under his breath is anything to go by. This guy...how is it that after everything he's heard so far, he's able to stay so positive? Even now, when surrounded by monsters, told that there's some sort of all-powerful being keeping them trapped here, knowing he can't easily just go back to his home...he's able to smile.
