Any movement in the fog raises suspicion because you never know what's waiting. What is worse is the fact that Sam has more than a few ideas of what could be, so he's on edge, and understandably so. Though he can hear light footsteps drawing closer, he has no clue what direction they're coming from until it's too late. He turns his head, then his torso just in time to be collided with.

He doesn't stumble, but he's certainly surprised, half-drawing his weapon up before he realizes that it's human, or at least she appears as much. There's a bit of relief in the way his shoulders relax, but to let his guard down entirely would be stupid.

"There's not much to see in general right now," he says, offering a short-lived smile. "Are you okay?"
