It is ridiculously easy to read him now. Of course Akechi will somehow weaponize it, if just to be an asshole.

But it was a dangerous game they played, and even Akechi knew it. He wouldn't go as far as to completely alienate Akira to the point where he'd call it off, as even someone like Akechi craved companionship.
