Subtropical is defined as being 'near tropical'. They're really warm, and depending on the area, either really rainy, or more dry. Basically, they're areas that aren't 'tropical' enough to be 'tropical', but can't be called cool enough to be 'Temperate' either.

It looks like most of the islands here are either at the south or north ends...they probably won't be too different in climate though.
