[She was so embroiled in the pamphlets (which were sounding more and more ridiculous the longer she stared at them), that she nearly launched herself into the air at the sudden voice from down the alley, pamphlets fluttering in the air before landing on the dirty stone below as she whipped her head around to where the voice came from.]
[Her first thought was ghost, then not a ghost. He was too opaque to be one, never mind that he actually cast a shadow rather than just... float there ominously. And then the weirdness hit her - horns poking out at his hairline, and the sharp dark claws on the one hand she could see. If the darkness was from nail polish, it wasn't from any she'd seen before.]
