The truth of the matter is that it isn't so much the killing people for sustenance bit that bothers Kaph, so much as the idea of actually eating the meat. But he can tell this is the kind of guy who might not take kindly to an honest explanation, and he likes having some leeway in his relationships with people, so for the moment, he just nods noncommittally.

"Do I remember? Of course!" He wasn't doing anything exciting - he'd just gone to bed. But he can spice up the details! "I mean, you don't just forget a place like mine.
