Ganymede | Olimpos

(a)

(For years, he's been surrounded by a garden that would be the envy of anyone not trapped in a cage. For years, he's been away from other humans, trapped in a land of flowers and occasionally visited by a god. For years, he'd not known the feeling of water and sand. It was a cursed life, even if he wasn't being actively tortured. It also made the feeling of waking on a beach one hard to recognize.

Slowly, he pushes himself up and pushes his knees behind him. A look somewhere between wonder and awe paint his features as one bangled hand reaches to move through the wet sand. Even the way it clumps between his fingers is somewhat of an amazement. The night may offer dangers, but it's been so long since he's been any real danger.)

Is this another trick?

(No, it's too real. He can feel the way the damp sand conforms to his fingers, how it sticks in a way that is both unpleasant and strangely pleasant. It's real! He's managed to escape...

No. Letting the sand fall, he pushes himself up and looks to the sky.)

I won't fall for it. I know this is just another trick of yours! Stop using me for your games!

(People. They're dressed in strange fashions, but they're actual people walking around a real town. Once Ganymede decided Hades' trick would end once he left the beach, he caught glimpses of lights and movement. His pace quickly picked up until he was running among the crowds, spinning as if the world would disappear if he dared focused on a single sight.

They were giving him gifts! Without knowing what any of the strange animals were or why he was being told about them, he accepted them all happily. The last human he'd met had been such an obvious ploy by Hades that he'd only been met with disdain, but not everyone where could be against him, could they?)

Thank you. Thank you.

(It was real. Could he dare believe it? Even if he tried to keep his closed heart from opening in hope, he can feel the moisture collecting in his eyes. What if... just...only, what if it was real and he was free?)

(He's an obscure character so if you'd like to know more about him, please feel free to contact me. Otherwise, also feel free to choose your own scenario for him.)
