TEST DRIVE MEME

Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note: The State of the Game Discussion produced a lot of great suggestions and we now have a post for Plot Suggestions and Monster Questions. The NETWORK VOTE results are in and PRIVATE MESSAGING will be added some time in November. Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look. You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely. Reserve and application dates have been announced. Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample! Sample scenarios: SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town. SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

Jetstorm, Thrust decides, trusts his luck to a terrifying degree. Though there's one thing he's noticed-- "You're lucky the organics think you're cute."

Just because Thrust doesn't get the appeal of... well, humans, and just because he doesn't share their standards doesn't mean he hasn't noticed 'big eyes, tapered jaw, small mouth' seem to add up to 'cute.'

... Or possibly he's confused 'cute' for 'kitten,' and is talking out his aft to get Jetstorm riled up. These things are possible.

"Making the best of what I've got," Jetstorm replies, lolling his tongue out again. "If you've got it, use it-and flaunt it."

He flicks at his claws, looking as smug as his wolfy face allows him to. "And I'm not complaining about still being a handsome devil, even if the body changed for the worse before this upgrade."

... Thrust can't resist.

His face hurts too much to let the amused smirk get away from him, but it's there.

"Didn't know you thought Noble was that good-lookin'. Huh."

Thrust does not do 'innocent' very well at all.

"You're the one saying my body before this one was cute," Jetstorm shoots back. "Not my fault if the squishies notice and agree."

he looks himself over, cocking his head to the side. "As for the mutt? I pull off the look better than he ever could."

Thrust knows more humans (or once-humans or once-something-else-now-humans) than he's ever actually known transformers, but deep in his spark he does understand two things about jets: They're pretty, and they know it.

And it's always amusing to poke Jetstorm in the vanity.

"You looked like the kinda things they like, s'all I noticed."

The fun part will be watching Jetstorm figure out if that's a veiled insult or a backhanded compliment. Thrust looks too amused for it not to be something. (He's being subtle just to be annoying, mostly.)

And sure enough, Jetstorm picks up on the amused expression. "Say what? Do I detect a hint of condescension?" His hackles rise a little again, mostly making him look fluffier.

(It probably doesn't help.)

Jetstorm ends up sticking his long muzzle in the air, sitting up to fold his arms over his chest. "Organic taste is insane, but if we're stuck with it, I'd rather know I kept my looks."

He's even fluffier!

Thrust sporfles out a laugh that just won't be held back, and somehow in the process briefly snags his tongue on his fangs. "Ow. Frag, you're all-- extra-fuzzy, I dunno." Worth the little bit of a sting, because Jetstorm has mood fluff.

It takes Thrust a moment to stop chuckling.

"Figure we're stuck with it?"

The laughter makes Jetstorm hackle further-and thus, puff out further. Soon, he's at maximum fluff.

"If we are, let's wait until you're done spraying things everywhere and having new parts burst out. Then we can agree I got the better deal."

He's so fuzzy and Thrust cannot explain why it's funny.

But hey, no fireballs yet, which is good.

"Frag, man, I got spider, an' I think you got one of the ones that changes back." He won't swear to that. 'Spider' is a familiar animal, 'wolf' is a lot less so, but he thinks there are only a couple fuzzy-carnivore-monsters, and most of them either breathe fire or change back during the day. "I ain't arguin' slag unless the spider upgrade comes with a ranged weapon."

"If the ladybug's anything to go by, you might be able to short out everything electric in the area. ...Good luck with that."

The tech level here is a joke.

"Maybe you'll spew things. That would keep with your current theme."

"That was a reflex or somethin'," which is probably only an apology by certain standards. "More likely I'll get-- whaddya call cybervenom when it's organic?"

He's supposed to be the smart one, too.

"Painful, probably," Jetstorm snarks back. "At least going from how these bodies register damage. The one sense that didn't dampen down or disappear."

"Dunno about you, but my olfactory sense ramped way up." Just in time to start living with organics. "Could you taste, before?" It wasn't a thing for Thrust until it suddenly was, and no, he's not going to tell Jetstorm about his first forays into flavor.

There were witnesses. Jetstorm can find some of them, if he wants to mock Thrust.

(But he's not going to argue sight or hearing.)

"Brand new, and not a pleasant experience at first, let me tell you." His muzzle wrinkles, and he licks at his jaws. "...and with this olfactory upgrade, I'm wondering if that changed again, too."

The two seemed to be linked together. Which meant that flavors were just going to be worse.

"Well, your fluff settled down. Wanna get back to trailing whatever leaked?" ... Or had Jetstorm just been commenting on that? Whatever. "Bite somethin' and see."
