[ she's been running for a while now, and due to the shock of the place and her overall lack of proper nutrition and sleep the days prior to arriving here, she hasn't got much energy left to work with. so she's slowed by the time she hears that meow, slow enough that her heart is no longer pounding quite so loudly in her ears.
she turns out of instinct, crimson eyes flying around till they finally settle on the strange-looking cat.
there's a moment's pause where she just stares into those eyes.
she's going crazy. she definitely is, for those eyes to look so familiar. it's guilt, or regret, or any number of other emotions she can't afford to feel right now.
so despite the cat's cuteness, despite the feeling in the back of her head that she knows this cat, she forces herself to turn away. she drags her feet, exhausted, but still going. ]
