THREE - the arcade [ The arcade is a mishmash of impossibly modern and something that better suits the rest of the city. Homura likes it immediately, though she was never one for arcades before-- too much noise and activity for someone who prefers quiet and calm-- and has only visited them to speak with Kyouko before. Belonging to a god or not, it's not especially noisy here now, and she doesn't see anyone around... so she decides to try one of the games lining the walls. She isn't especially good at pinball, never having tried it before, but after countless losses she finally looks away from the machine and notices that she's actually not alone.
It takes a little internal struggle, but ultimately Homura decides to approach. She's been here a few weeks, still human in appearance, and has decided to try and live as normal a life as possible. That means doing things like talking to people, even if it's hard. Maybe even making friends. She hasn't made a new friend for so long; the prospect excites her. ]
Are you any better at this game?
FOUR - faerie [ Homura is hungry. This isn't her first feeding, so it's less like she's doing something wrong and more like a routine. But she knows no matter how desensitized she gets to doing something so terrible, humans will never look at it that way.
She'd like to be more selective-- somebody without a family, somebody mean and useful to no one-- but she waited too long to do this. Her mistake. As regretful as that is, she's not going to be the one to pay for it. She just goes for the first people she sees in an area no one seems to be hanging around. She catches a couple walking through this remote, run down part of the city. He's protective of her, she's clinging onto his arm with her purse in plain sight. It's simple to whip by them and snatch it, propelling herself forward with her wings. It's easy to bait the guy into chasing her by waving it around-- he's hot-headed. A few twists and turns down some street corners and simple as that, she leads him into a faerie ring. He crumples to the asphalt lifelessly and Homura forces thoughts of his family from her mind as she whips around.
Oh. There's someone there, and that's you. She was half expecting to find her victim's girlfriend. Unsure if you're here to fight or be friends, she makes a preemptive peace offering: ]
