[The hunger drowns out all else. Every little question about how she arrived at the bank of the lake, whose yard she might be trespassing in, why she's there... The hunger makes them all inconsequential. That's a problem for future her. She can...it's strange, but she can almost feel the energy reverberating through the water, radiating off of the nearby manticore. It makes her feel like there's an unfillable hole in her stomach. Aching. Desperate.
But...but then she finally looks at the girl. She seems so young...
It takes her a moment to realize she's been spotted, but when she does, she sort of blanks on what to say for a second.]
