[As always, it makes Edgeworth vaguely uncomfortable to be faced with the gratitude of a victim's loved one. It fills him with a confusing blend of emotions: pride, to which he knows he has no right, regret, relief. Still, he's grateful for the reminder of what he's really meant to be doing. He replies awkwardly] I'm sorry for your loss. [and is surprised to realize how infrequently he has the opportunity to express such sentiment. There's rarely time in the midst of an investigation, when other lives are often hanging in the balance.]
