Waking up in a hospital bed was bizarre enough. Waking up in a hospital bed in somewhere that clearly was not anywhere in Tokyo or probably even Japan was the weirdest. Or maybe how casual everyone was about people washing up on the beach for no apparent reason looking like they'd been in a bad shipwreck.

Or maybe Neku was just a special case.

"This is probably some kinda weird dream. Maybe I should lay off the fast food for a while."

"Okay no. This isn't funny anymore. I'd like to leave now."

In retrospect, going into the forest wasn't the best plan. But the path going in had been straight, and he'd planned to walk in, check it out a little bit and then turn around and walk out. Clearly that hadn't worked; walking straight back had somehow led him deeper into the woods instead of towards town.

Not to mention he could swear he heard giggling. Probably some local kids hiding in the bushes, nothing to worry about, but it was getting annoying fast. Twerps.

"Fine. I'll just try a different direction then."
