Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
Lots of people have asked good questions on the FAQ, so do take a look.
You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
NEW! Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 3 coins by replying to potential character threads! You will need to have your normal 20 comment AC in the game. You cannot use this to go over the bonus 10 coins per month total, but you can use it if you are missing some threads to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.
SCENARIO THREE: You've heard about the fog, but you've never seen it before. Now, the mist surrounds you. Barely able to see before you, you need to get home - and fast. It's far too dangerous in this situation.
SCENARIO FOUR: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
[ ooc note: datasora icly thinks of himself as "Sora," because that's his name in the system, even though he is fully aware that he's a data copy of another person outside the system whose name is also "Sora." thus, his tags say Sora. sorry if this is confusing! ]

[ By now, Sora has already read every pamphlet and book he could get his hands on in the hospital that dealt with the outsiders' situation. He's memorized them all, as well. But sadly, now that he no longer has a computer for a brain, he can't run any diagnostics on the data, or cross-reference any points to sift out truths from exaggerations. Bummer! He's still dealing with the ramifications of having a human-capacity brain, so it still hasn't sunk in yet that he may soon transform into a horrible people-eating monster.
Right now, he is eating his very first Human Food, offered to him by a nervous man on the street: a large roast beef sandwich. ]
Oh, man. [ he says through a huge mouthful. ] This is really good!
[ Are you going to stop this young child from walking off with a stranger in exchange for more food? ]

[ Sora's lost. This is terrible. He was hoping that he'd be able to cut through Lager Woods to that castle he saw across the bay, but his sense of direction has failed him somehow. Even following the sun towards the east seemed to lead him farther away from it. And now it's getting dark... ]
Simon has bad experiences with nervous men on the street. While he isn't exactly a paragon saint and protector of all people, he's not going to just sit by and watch as what is obviously a pedophile or something else creepy lure away a kid just like that.
Though this place isn't adapted for the disabled at all and Simon doesn't dare to just roll his wheelchair out in the street, so he's reduced to just yelling at them from the other side of the street.
"Hey! Hey you! What the fuck do you think you're doing? Get away!" This could be directed at either the man, or the kid, it's not quite clear and gets the point across no matter which one of them takes it.
Sora hears someone shouting at him and his potential new friend, and turns around. Does the shouter need help? Does he want to talk? What's going on? Turning to the nice man who offered him a steady supply of food and a place to stay for a few days, Sora says, "Thanks for lunch, but I have to see what that guy wants over there!"
He runs across the street after checking both directions. The nervous man doesn't follow him, apparently scared off by being shouted at. Sora takes little note of this; running up to the younger man in the wheelchair, he stops, sandwich still in hand. "Hi, did you need something? I'm Sora, by the way!" He extends his other hand.
Well, getting the kid away from the creepy dude sure was easy. But now the kid is coming his way, oh no, this was not what Simon had in mind, what is he going to do now shit shit fuck.
When he talks again it's with a voice very different to the one he shouted with just moments ago. It's far softer, almost timid... you could even think he was intimidated, but who in their right mind is intimidated by a child?
Simon is.
"I'm Simon...." he tentatively takes the enthusiastic kid - Sora's - hand. "You really shouldn't trust strangers like that. Didn't your parents teach you anything?"
