Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:
Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: You've just been released from the hospital in Vandare and no one really seems to know what to do with you. The locals offer polite advice but don't seem to want to spend a lot of time with you. You and the other new arrivals stick out like sore thumbs, so perhaps one will spot you wandering about town.
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together.
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
That something soft was connected to one pretty woman who was having just as unnerving a time out in the forest as the fearless detective himself.
The very second their backs bumped together gently, Naomi shot forward and away from the unfamiliar man with an unladylike yelp, scrambling as fast as she could towards the nearest shrubbery or tree trunk so she could duck behind it and hide as if her very life depended upon it. And considering the types of terrifying things she'd run into inside of this maze of a forest, that could very well be the case.
This was precisely why Naomi kept bodyguards around! It was much easier to hide behind a strong man than get caught running through the woods with heels on.
Though that scream.... Hm. Somehow it seemed much more horrified than horrifying.
The woman's frantic steps lightened slightly before her dark eyes shot over her shoulder, a small hand stopping to rest lightly against the nearest tree's thick trunk. She was ready to continue running if need be, but it couldn't hurt to take one look back and see what she was up against.
Adachi shot forward himself once he managed to stop screaming. Unfortunately he wasn't watching where he was going, and managed to hook his foot on a tree root. He hit the ground in the most graceful manor possible, which was to say he ended up eating a good chunk of leaves before he pulled himself together.
He glanced back once he realized he wasn't being made into a snack, surprised just to see another human... smoking hot babe.
Holy shit.
"H-hey..." he began, a pink flush coming to his face. "Sorry, didn't see you there."
Any and all fear that had initially flared up within the woman's slender form vanished immediately at the sight of the lanky detective standing so awkwardly behind her, the soft blush in his face only helping to ease a bit of the anxious tension in her shoulders. No, the pair of them certainly weren’t out of the dangers that this forest would likely put them up against, but at least the doctor may have stumbled upon just what she had been searching for.
A temporary bodyguard.
Naomi turned to face the man fully, arms crossing over her chest before she was stepping closer, one tiny foot in front of the other, closing that distance between them.
“Likewise.” Or she may have not scrambled away so embarrassingly quickly. The doctor allowed her expression to soften slightly, full lips curving into a small smile, not enough to erase the worry knitting between her brows, but the slightest of welcoming looks. “I was starting to think I’d never run into another person again out here… It’s a bit of a maze.” Her dark eyes sought his out. "It must be fate."
fff I've been playing him for a few months now, and I still cringe every time he's... well HIM.
Adachi took a moment to get a good look at her as she came out, and his previous thought of her being smoking hot may have been a bit of an understatement. Such long, slim legs, a tiny waist, lovely kissable lips, and a chest that made that Yamano bitch look like a little girl in comparison. Hot damn, he'd just love to get his hands on that and--
He had to cut that thought off quick before something embarrassing happened.
Instead, Adachi reached back, rubbing absently at the back of his neck.
"I-I dunno about fate, but I am glad to see another human being around," he replied. "It is way too creepy in this forest, even for a guy like me."
Adachi, on the other hand, wasn't too much to look at considering the type of battle-scarred men Naomi generally surrounded herself with. Though his tall, lanky profile did dredge up a certain familiarity with one particular engineer she once knew...
"--And especially for a woman like me."
Naomi moved to his side, arms unfurling so that the woman could offer her tiny hand up in introduction and as a show of good faith. "Doctor Naomi Hunter."
Even in a place like this, that title would never drop.
Adachi clasped her hand lightly, almost like she was fine china that he was afraid of breaking, and throwing in a respectful little bow of his head for good measure. All an act, of course. It was a shame she was a doctor though; she'd probably try to make herself better than him... but it didn't mean he wouldn't try. Besides, he knew by now how to handle women like that.
"Detective Tohru Adachi," he introduced himself in turn.
Much like her, even stuck on another world, even if he essentially would never be an actual detective again, that title was his.
The woman's dark gaze sharpened briefly at that introduction, her delicate chin tilting upwards to better meet his expression, a hint of genuine interest in Naomi's next spoken word.
"Detective?"
Yes, he would do just nicely.
"It's a pleasure, Mr. Adachi." She allowed her feminine touch to linger on his hand before pulling away, though the moment her hand had retreated, the woman herself was stepping in just a little bit closer. Even with her criminal history and that pesky label of 'Most Wanted International Terrorist' hanging over her head, Naomi was more than willing to chance it with the police if it meant she got out of this forest alive. Knowing her, she'd manage to wiggle out of their grasp eventually anyway.
It was hard to miss the interest in her voice, and Adachi couldn't help a little grin at the attention. Well... so far, she wasn't so bad; at least she could recognize someone worth paying attention to when she saw him. He straightened himself up a little bit, trying to look less like a slouch and more like the all important detective of the Inaba Police Department.
"Likewise, Miss Hunter," he returned, before glancing back. Okay, time to swallow his chicken shit attitude toward this place and be a man. Maybe if he played his cards right, he'd finally be getting some tonight.
"Hey, let's try to get out of here, now that we both got someone," he suggested, turning back to offer her a smile. "Maybe it'll be easier that way."
IF YOU DON'T MIND -- Option 2

NOT AT ALL; I apologize for everything in advance
