TEST DRIVE MEME

TEST DRIVE MEME: SEPTEMBER

Welcome to the Ryslig Test Drive Meme! Below are a few prompts to get you started, but you may make up any prompt you desire! Please take a look at the navigation page for rules, setting information, and links to reserves and apps. Have fun!

SCENARIO ONE
You wake up on the beach thoroughly drenched with your mouth full of sand. The salt water causes various cuts and scrapes on your skin to sting and the sand isn't helping. The air is slightly humid, ruining any feeling of refreshment you might have gotten from your dip in the ocean. There are lights in the distance but the unfriendly scent of gunpowder fills the air. If you're lucky, you're alone. If not, you might find yourself staring up into a pair of monstrous eyes or down the barrel of a local's shotgun.

SCENARIO TWO
So you've just arrived, and already SOME the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes." Then there's the people who aren't happy to see you at all. Glares and silent, judging stares if you're lucky. Torches and pitchforks attempting to drive you out of the town if you're not. You may need a friend to help you.

SCENARIO THREE
"Seek us out," the voice whispers in your head, and before you have time to question it you've found yourself in someplace entirely alien. Maybe it's the Fog God's ghostly town of Dyster, where exultant followers dance around bonfires and sing their praises to the skies above. Maybe it's the Fourth God's arcade, with small robots wheeling about amidst the lights and colors of old pinball machines. Only one thing is certain: you are not alone, in this sacred place.

SCENARIO FOUR
The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

"Hey," There's an urgency in the whisper, since Grace wants to get the young woman's attention without startling her, but doesn't want to attract the owner of the gun that's a little further down the shore. "Look, don't panic, but I saw a guy with a gun not far from here and he doesn't look like he's here to help us."

Regardless of Grace's attentions, she still catches the other off guard, though not enough to cause any unwarranted shouting. So there was someone else here, after all. At the moment she didn't seem particularly malicious... and there was nothing else to go on as far as what the hell was going on.

"A what?" Sonia almost squints at what this person is saying. A guy with a gun? She keeps her low voice, but pointed enough to emphasize her urgency. "What is going on? Do you know where we are...?"

Grace is thankful that the other woman doesn't panic- one less thing to worry about. She makes a quick glance over her shoulder to make sure no one else is coming.

"I'm trying to figure all that out, myself." She says, still in a hushed tone. "I was on a plane fifteen minutes ago, believe it or not. I think we'll be okay if we head in the opposite direction. If there are people out here then a town can't be far off, and hopefully someone there can give us some answers."

"A plane...?" How weird. She expected to have woken up on an island with people she knew in the immediate vicinity but this... was definitely not what she had in mind.

Rather than get to that, though, Sonia wanted to at least get out of plane sight before they started talking. She nods, standing up from where she was sitting. She was still sore and the sand was getting in her cuts again, but it'd have to wait. "All right, we should move then. We should probably move off the beach, first, so we are not so easily seen." She pauses for a moment. She didn't even ask for the girl's name. "My name is Sonia, by the way."

"Grace." She introduced herself, giving a small but reassuring smile. They were going to figure this out, she was certain. "C'mon, let's head this way. The waves should cover any noise we make, but keep an eye out for anyone just in case."

Sonia returns the smile for a brief moment, before nodding in response. "Right. Hopefully we don't run into anyone else with misinformed intentions." She purses her lips, before starting to move in the opposite direction that Grace had referred to prior.

Grace wasn't dressed for trudging along the beach, but she did her best to keep up a good pace. Who knew how long it would take to find someone else to help. In the meantime, she would have to try and figure this out herself.

"You weren't on the plane, were you?" She asked, still a little quieter than usual. "What do you remember doing last? Maybe we can figure out how we both got here."
