TEST DRIVE: NOVMEMEBER (get it because it's a meme)

- You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
- We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!
- Ryslig's FAQ is located here, so please take a look if you have questions.
- The reserve date is 11/27.
- Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
- Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.
Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR:The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

Trouble?
[ Even his eyes are closed, completing the impression that a disembodied voice is speaking to her. ]
no subject
W-who said that?!
[There was no one she could see with her in the alley. Remembering that she was on the run and realizing how loudly she cried out, she claps her hands belatedly to her mouth.]
no subject
He's not quite leaning on his back (there are spines there which make it uncomfortable). It's more like a casual slouch with his body angled towards her, one shoulder against the wall and gloved hands in his pockets. There's a faint, polite smile on his face as he doffs his hat. ]
Just me.
no subject
Okay, that was actually a neat trick. She relaxes.]
Whoa, that was...that was pretty cool! I wish I could do that! [All she can do is probably threaten people with her claws, or make her antennae twitch.]
no subject
It comes at a price you may not want to pay, Miss. As all good things do.
[ And then he tilts his head, listening for something. She must be hiding for a reason and he doesn't want to be surprised by her pursuers. ]
Shall I show you to a safer place? I know these streets well.

His destination is an abandoned shop a few blocks away. Normally he would head for the roofs but he doesn't want to risk trying to carry her. Not with the ability he's recently discovered. He is inclined to be silent during their short trip but he'll answer if she tries to make conversation. ]
no subject
After a moment, she decides to whisper.]
That's the safer place?
no subject
Yes. Is there a problem? [ He realises that she might not feel safe alone with a strange man in a deserted, empty spot and turns around fully, raising his hands. ] Ah, I promise not to touch you if that is what you're worried about. On my honour as a thief.
no subject
[But wait. That last bit. She perks up, suddenly smiling brightly.]
Did you say you're a thief?
no subject
I did. [ He cocks his head. Her smile doesn't give him the feeling he should be wary... If anything, she seems excited. ] Why?
no subject
[Kay holds her head up proudly.]
A Great Thief!
no subject
[ Kid looks her over a second time. Being the last person who can lecture anyone on how a thief should look or act, he wonders whether she really is as great as she claims. And if she is, that will make three thieves vying for territory in this city. Him, her and that other riddling thief, 'Scherbius'...
He hums to himself and gestures ahead of them to the shop. The door is locked and there is no key. ]
Perhaps you'd like to demonstrate?
no subject
Leave it to me! [Then she proceeds to start picking the locked door.] My specialty is the truth, though.
no subject
'The truth'? [ he echoes, curious. Just like that, the smile becomes a light frown. Kid seems to have interpreted her claim the wrong way. She can tell by the way his voice gains a hard edge. ] You steal the truth? Why?
no subject
[And with that, the door opens with a satisfying click, and she raises her hands in triumph before giving a theatrical bow.]
no subject
Not bad. [ Before he can say anything more, heavy footsteps echo from somewhere down the street. He springs into action, ushering her inside. The door will get locked behind them and suddenly Kid has gone from white phantom to black shadow again. ]
no subject
[Her moment of accomplishment fades when she hears the heavy footsteps, and she allows Kaito to usher her inside. The door locks, but Kay is more concerned with how her savior has disappeared yet again, and she looks this way and that.]
Hey - where'd you go?
no subject
Right here.
no subject
She blinks at first, then laughs.]
That trick doesn't get old, does it?
no subject
It's convenient but I worry it will make me lazy.
[ Footsteps pass by the front of the store and he hushes her, sinking into a crouch so that even his silhouette is out of sight of the window. He gestures for her to follow suit. ]
no subject
Kay was about to say something when he hushes her, and she hurries quietly to crouch with him away from the window.]
no subject
Hmm, I wonder if they would come after me if I made my next show public... [ This mused afterward. ]
no subject
Your show? Is it a thief show?
no subject
[ A flourish of his hand and there's suddenly a white, thornless rose between his fingers, being offered to her. ]
I am a magician, you see. My thefts must therefore be a spectacular show for my audience.
