TEST DRIVE

Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:

• You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
• We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!
• Ryslig's FAQ is located here, so please take a look if you have questions.
• The reserve date is 9/26.
• Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
• Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.

Sample scenarios:

SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...

SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

SCENARIO FOUR (New):The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.

Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

[Thankfully, sharp, eagle-like eyes catch the running person from a roof top, and an almost exasperated sigh could be heard if someone had sharp-enough ears. Of course Sawatari would find himself here and in the worst mess he possibly could be.

Though he's not under any orders, Tsukikage does feel somewhat obligated to go and save him. So he spreads his great wings and begins a lightning fast descent towards him. With expert accuracy, the harpy snatches Shingo up by his arms and begins lifting him into the sky, powerful muscles easily dragging him along.]

Don't squirm. You're heavier than you look.

[Is that a jab at your pie-eating habits? Or just a simple comment?]

[Sawatari might be sharp when he tries, but it certainly doesn't enhance any of his senses. So he doesn't notice Harpykage swooping in on his position, and he screeches worse than any monster when he's dragged up.

OF COURSE HE'S GONNA SQUIRM.]

What was that?! I'm at the perfect weight, thank you!

[Excuse you you can never have too sweet milk honey apple berry pie okay.]

[He sighs and keeps a steady hold on Shingo. He's tempted to dig his claws deep into Shingo's arm but he continues holding on to Shingo and starts flying as far as he can away from the gang of hunters.]

Sawatari, do you want me to drop you?

[They're at least a good 20 metres over the highest rooftop. Good grief]

[That actually gets him to stop squirming.]

You wouldn't dare.

[Tsukikage simply gives a non-committal noise as he flies them over. When they're a decent enough distance away, Tsukikage lowers them both to a rooftop, dropping Sawatari as high as he dared to without hurting him, if only to see Shingo stumble.]

[And stumble he does, making little shrieking noises as he flails around his arms and hops forward a few times before he can regain his footing.]

H-hiieh-haaaah!

[Tsukikage lands and straightens himself up, owlishly looking at Shingo with a tilted head.]

What were you doing to warrant their attention? Besides yell insults at them?

I don't even know! I just passed by them and they all turned to look at me! As they should.

[He crosses his arms and huffs. To be fair, despite his dramatics indicating to the contrary, Sawatari didn't start this. They were just spoiling for a monster hunt.

It's definitely obvious that he escalated the whole situation though, once he became a target. How does Sawatari not do that when he's around?]

[He's already figured that one out. Those people were trained hunters, they would be going after anyone who seemed remotely foreign.]

Then I'll stay up here until the day passes and they'll get tired of the hunt. That will be the safest.

[Meaning unless Shingo fancies scaling this building, he's stuck here talking to the bird who... has mostly kept his trademark outfit, surprisingly. Only his sleeves and his shoes had been removed, and his chest seems puffier.]

Like...a month or something. I just dealt with this...fog stuff for the first time so...

I think they would have hunted you regardless if you were easy or not. They all seem like serious hunters. It's not a thing to take lightly.
