Welcome to Ryslig's test drive meme! If you're considering apping here, this is where you can try your characters out in the game's setting. A few things to note:

You can only app ONE character per round so choose wisely.
We now have a Quick Game Facts that simplifies the basic information about the game. Good if you want to see what the game is at a glance!

Test drive meme threads can be used for your roleplay sample!
Players with characters already in the game can earn up to a maximum of 6 coins by replying to potential character threads! You cannot use this to go over the bonus 20 coins per month total, but you can use it to reach that coin total. Same rules as normal bonuses apply.

Sample scenarios:

SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.

Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."

SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...

SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.

SCENARIO FOUR (New):The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.

Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.

[It's not a voice he's familiar with but something about it strikes a chord. The young man stops and glances over his shoulder at the approaching young man and Vanitas feels something twist inside himself.

Who is he? Why does he feel like that?

He doesn't turn, keeping his back to Sora as he looks away once more, a bark of a laugh escaping him.]

Do I look like I'm lost?

[ ooooh. dramatic. of course this is Sora. anything dramatic like this is halfway lost on him. only halfway, because he at least remembers how many of the guys he's had to stop kind of do this thing too. ]

Uh... Maybe? But if you're not then maybe you could show me the way out? Because I am lost and all that stuff.

[ ain't even afraid to admit it. ]

[Oh Sora. You are so very special.]

I could do that.

[It comes out as a drawl, Vanitas glancing at the boy again.]

But then you'd never learn, would you?

[ special indeed. ]

Learn what? How to escape from a woods that pretty obviously wants to keep me in?

[ but not without some sass. Sora even folds his arms across his chest. it's meant to be accompanied with a frown... but we all know what Sora brand frowns kind of look like. ]

Learn how to take care of yourself. It's pretty pathetic that you can't even find your way out of some woods.

[He can't help but taunt. This kid is just--

Just like him.

Vanitas's grin faltered slightly before he caught himself and finally turned to face Sora completely, leaning in a bit closer.]

You don't stand a chance here, kid.

[ wow rude! ]

Hey! Just because I'm lost doesn't -

[ but he stops short when the guy turns around. his mind goes blank because Sora's pretty sure he's staring right at his own face! ]

Who -

[ then it clicks. he's seen that face! Sora takes two steps back, pointing. ]

You!

[Well. That's unexpected.

He doesn't let his surprise at the other's recognition show, instead just letting out a mocking laugh.]

Something wrong?

[There was something missing; something that he didn't know about this kid.

May as well let Sora fill in the gaps unknowingly though.]

[ well he doesn't appreciate that laugh. not at all. ]

Obviously! Who are you? Why do you look like me?

[ sorry bro. all he has for you are questions. Sora doesn't know much of anything. ]

And what do you have to do with Xehanort?

[ or maybe he does have something! ]

Pretty sure I came first, kid.

[That's alright, Sora. He'll get information out of you one way or another.

Moving forward, Vanitas reaches out to grab Sora's shirt to tug him forward, putting them nose to nose.]

He's my master. Well, was. I really don't need him anymore.

[Lies. You really can't do much of anything Vanitas.]

Pretty sure you didn't.

[ at least Sora's not intimidated by this. if anything he gets a defiant look in his eye and leans forward himself. ]

Some master. I've been dealing with him and his Organization a lot. Never saw you the entire time.

[ not until Sora's dreams anyway. ]

[He can't help but laugh at that.]

Oh how little you know.

[The defiance is almost impressive but he's already painted this kid as just a brainless idiot.

No offense.]

Like I said, I'm pretty sure I came first. Let me guess, you have no idea who Aqua, Terra, and Ventus are, do you?

[ none taken. but Sora shoves this guy away. put some space between them. ]

Never met them.

[ doesn't answer the question, but something twists inside him none the less. ]

[Vanitas actually lets go when he's pushed back, sneering at the other.]

Then you really don't know anything. Pathetic.

[But everything about him was just so familiar--so much like his other half that he wanted nothing more than to just destroy him.

If only he had the Unversed.]

I know enough. Xehanort wants Kingdom Hearts. But my friends and me won't let that happen.

[ that's what it comes down to. ]

He's used everyone - even a lot of my friends. Chances are he used you too.
