Sample scenarios:
SCENARIO ONE: So you've just arrived, fresh out of the hospital, and already the natives are trying to get on your good side. Offers of food, shelter and other luxuries in return for hoping you don't eat them. They even have some helpful pamphlets to share with you. "How To Deal With Changes", "Alternatives to Human Flesh", "What to Expect When You're Expecting (to turn into a monster)" are all great pamphlets. There's even some detailing certain monsters, and the changes they go through. Some of these seem to have been passed down from one monster to the next.
Among these however, are some... not so helpful ones. "Bunnyipyips And You", "Axe Thief Axehounds," and "So you're becoming a Fur Bearing Trout" among others. Sometimes they have marks on them from previous people who had them saying they are lies, or pointing out good "jokes."
SCENARIO TWO: You've become hopelessly lost in Lager Woods. Paths don't seem to lead where you remember them leading, and you feel as if you're going around in circles. Childlike giggling can be heard from no direction in particular. Suddenly, you stumble upon another character, who seems to be just as lost as you! Perhaps you can find a way out together. Or maybe they want you for lunch...
SCENARIO THREE: The time has come and you've found yourself becoming a monster. Is the change instant, or gradual? Are you familiar enough with monsters to know what's happening, or is it a complete shock? NOTE: Feel free to pick any monster type for this prompt, but note that you may not get the same one in game.
SCENARIO FOUR (New):The claws, the fangs, the pangs of hunger - horrible as they all are, it's manageable given enough time and perseverance. Local monster hunters, though, not so much.
Maybe it started with a few wayward glances on the outskirts of town, critical stares and disapproving whispers, or just the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, deserved or entirely unprovoked, you're being hunted: a handful of aggressive, well-armed humans doggedly chase your trail throughout city streets and out into the open, and if you're not careful (if you don't find help soon) you might wind up as the next trophy kill claim on one of those hunter's walls.
Syrenne | The Last Story
Syrenne wasn't sure where she was, but she certainly had had worse welcomes after waking up in a strange town. Usually a morning in a hospital meant getting black out drunk the night before and probably a bar fight. The injuries and cuts seemed pretty much in line with that but...she wasn't hung over. Normally she'd be glad about that but there was a tickling of concern building in her gut. The fact that no one had heard of Lazulis Island didn't help either.
And then came the offers and pamphlets. At first she was shocked and a bit put off at the suggestion that she'd eat someone, but when she was offered a drink in exchange who was she to turn it down. One thing lead to another and soon the redhead was carousing with her new friends, slamming steins and quaffing ale. Just another round and then she'd go see if she could find Zael and the others.
"Oi! Barkeep! Another round for me and my friends here. And make it snappy before I decide to eatcha! Rar!" She nearly didn't make it through her threat before bursting out in laughter.
Scenario 3
The changes began and at first Syrenne thought they were pretty interesting. She'd been warned, so it wasn't a complete shock. And as her fingernails turned to claws and her fangs grew in she started to joke about becoming a sexy vampire or something like it. A few threats of chasing her friends around as a bat were dropped as well.
But then one morning came and she became aware that her vision seemed...different...and her body heavy. And there were spider webs...everywhere.
A blood curdling scream rose from her room as her new legs broke the bed and she scampered up the wall, tangling herself further in the nest of webs that she had made in her sleep. A SPIDER. Why did she have to turn into a spider?!
1!
The shade steps into the pub, his shadow tendrils drawn in tightly against his back, his luminescent eye sweeping the interior. It's not hard to spot the boisterous redhead shouting from a back table, and Yurick feels his jaw drop. She's here. She's actually here.
"Syrenne?" He can't manage more than a hoarse croak, who knows if the swordswoman will hear him over the din she and the other patrons are making?
Re: 1!
But still she remains alert even through her haze, with only a few triggers and details set to filter through. Yurick's voice is one of them. At the single word he speaks her head turns to find him and her face manages to light up far more sincerely than it has been this whole time.
"Yurick! I knew you'd show up eventually! Where are Zael and the others? Are they okay? I woke up in a hospital here and I don't remember anything before that."
no subject
"It's only Zael and me, and now you. The others aren't here, Syrenne." Yurick is uncharacteristically soft-spoken, not that he was ever loud unless he was afraid or complaining. He just sounds weary and anxious. He can't even tell her he and Zael are okay, because they're really not. "You should come with me, there's... a lot we need to discuss."
no subject
"So where is here anyway? If this isn't Lazulis Island are we on the mainland? Or the Garuk continent?" Even with her questioning and the booze haze her eyebrow furrowed. Something was bothering the lad and she wasn't just going to blow it off. "What's on your mind." She shifted carefully off of her stool, ready to follow.

The mage sits down at the small round table, nodding at the seat across from him. "You'd better sit down. Even with your brain halfway to pickled, this is going to be hard to take."
no subject
She took the seat, cautiously cupping the stein in her hands. She was concerned for her friend. This wasn't like him. He was being too mysterious and to worried. Even for Yurick.
"Go on then. But don't you dare tell me we all died or sommat. And if we did then at least tell me I went out fighting."
no subject
So it was no surprise that some people took full advantage of the hospitality.
Rosa still worked there occasionally whenever Kain and Seth needed an extra pair of hands in the evening. She wandered closer, offering a playful grin. This group was rowdy, but they didn't appear to be causing any trouble.
"I'm afraid that Dave the Barkeep is very much off the menu," Rosa said, gesturing toward the hand-painted sign hanging near the bar, which did indeed make mention that there was to be no eating of the barkeep or other patrons. "But I would be happy to suggest the beer cheese and homemade bread, if you're feeling peckish!"
no subject
"I didn't mean nothin by it. When I got here people were talking like I was going to and I just decided to run with it." She slammed back another shot and left it face down on a table. "I know better than to bite the hand that pours me drinks." Besides, that couldn't really be a problem around here, right?
"Name's Syrenne. I don't suppose you've seen a fella named Zael around? Or a silver haired little scrap with an eyepatch by the name of Yurick?"
